Erdogan Secures Five More Years as Turkey’s President

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won the country’s presidential election and secured another five years in office, Deutsche Welle reports.

On Sunday, Erdogan received 52.14% of the vote, beating his rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu who got 47.86% of the vote.

Erdogan’s latest victory makes him Turkey’s longest-serving ruler since Mustafa Kemal Ataturk founded the republic a century ago.
