Turkey’s Erdogan Cancels Election Rallies after Falling Ill

On Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan suspended election campaigning after falling ill with an intestinal infection, AP News reports.

On Tuesday, Erdogan, 69, became ill during a TV interview which later turned out to be a “gastrointestinal infection,” according to Health Minister Fahrettin Koca.

He had to subsequently cancel his election rallies planned on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of the upcoming elections on May 14th.
