Harry Styles Stalker Jailed After Sending Him 8000 Cards in a Month

Myra Carvalho, a 35-year-old woman, has been sentenced to 14 weeks in jail and banned from attending any events where Harry Styles performs after pleading guilty to a stalking charge, BBC reports.

Carvalho, a Brazilian national, had been staying in a backpacking hostel in Earl’s Court, London, since arriving in the UK in December. She sent the singer 8,000 cards in less than a month, including handwritten letters and cards ordered online, some of which were wedding cards. She also hand-delivered two letters to Styles’ address. The harassment campaign caused serious alarm and distress to the 30-year-old singer.

Carvalho also received a restraining order lasting 10 years, prohibiting her from contacting Styles directly or indirectly and from attending any event where he performs. She was also instructed not to enter a specific area of northwest London. Additionally, she must pay a victim surcharge of £134.
