Margot Robbie is collaborating with Hasbro to produce a film adaptation of the board game Monopoly through her production company LuckyChap and Lionsgate, The Guardian reports.
The announcement comes following LuckyChap’s record-breaking success with Barbie, which grossed over $1.4 billion worldwide and earned eight Oscar nominations. While previous attempts to bring Monopoly to the screen have faltered, including a comedy concept with Ridley Scott in 2008 and a project starring Kevin Hart in 2019, the specifics of Robbie’s version are still unknown.
Robbie’s company is also working on other projects, including an R-rated Christmas comedy called Naughty and a film based on The Sims video game.
