Airbnb to Ban Indoor Security Cameras

Airbnb announced that it will prohibit the use of indoor security cameras in its listings on its platform by the end of April, Associated Press reports.

The decision aims to simplify its security camera policy and prioritize privacy, following consultation with guests, hosts, and privacy experts. Previously, indoor cameras were allowed in common areas if disclosed, but under the new policy, only doorbell cameras and noise monitors in common spaces are permitted with disclosure.

Airbnb expects this change to affect only a small number of hosts, as most listings do not have indoor security cameras. The policy update will take effect on April 30.
