Jeff Bezos Reclaims Title of World’s Richest Man From Elon Musk

Jeff Bezos has reclaimed the title of the world’s richest person with a net worth of $200 billion, surpassing Elon Musk’s $198 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Al Jazeera reports.

Bezos gained $23 billion in 2024, while Musk lost about $31 billion. The fluctuation in their wealth correlates with the performance of their respective companies, Amazon and Tesla, in the stock market. Despite selling $8.5 billion worth of Amazon shares, Bezos remains the largest shareholder with a 9.56 percent stake. Musk, with about a 20 percent equity stake in Tesla, lost the top spot after a judge invalidated a pay package valued at up to $55.8 billion.

The rankings have seen competition between Bezos, Musk, and Bernard Arnault in recent years, with Arnault now ranking third with $197 billion.
