Ukraine Signs Security Agreement with Netherlands

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte signed a security agreement between their countries in Kharkiv, a city near the Russian border frequently targeted by airstrikes, Reuters reports.

The agreement includes €2 billion in military aid from the Netherlands this year and additional defense assistance over the next decade. Zelenskiy expressed gratitude for the agreement, highlighting its importance in enhancing Ukraine’s security.

This agreement makes the Netherlands the seventh country to sign a 10-year security deal with Ukraine, following Canada, Italy, Germany, France, Denmark, and Britain, aimed at bolstering its security until it can potentially join NATO.
