Netflix’s Ad Based Plan Reaches 23 Million Monthly Active Users

Netflix’s ad-supported tier has now surpassed 23 million global monthly active users, according to Netflix’s advertising chief Amy Reinhard, Variety reports.

Speaking at the Variety Entertainment Summit at CES 2024, Reinhard highlighted the strong engagement, noting that 85% of customers on the ad-supported plans stream on the platform for more than two hours per day.

The recent figure marks significant growth, as just over two months ago, Netflix reported over 15 million monthly active users for the ad-supported tier. Reinhard emphasized the company’s focus on scaling the business and working with advertising partners to grow in a meaningful way while prioritizing member engagement and content.

The ad-supported plan, known as Netflix Basic With Ads, was launched in November 2022 in the US and 11 other countries, offering a more affordable subscription option compared to the Standard plan.
