Ukraine has launched a cruise missile attack on the Russian landing warship Novocherkassk stationed in the Crimean port of Feodosia, resulting in at least one death and significant damage to the ship, Reuters reports.
The Russian defense ministry confirmed the attack on the port of Feodosia and mentioned damage to the Novocherkassk, which can carry tanks and armored vehicles, but did not release detailed information about the incident.
The attack, conducted with cruise missiles supplied by Britain and France, could impede Russian attempts to seize more Ukrainian territory along the Black Sea coast. Ukrainian Air Force Spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat stated that the explosion was powerful, making it challenging for the ship to return to service.
