Ukraine Considers Mobilizing Another 500,000 for War

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the military had proposed to potentially mobilize 450,000-500,000 more citizens into the armed forces amid the ongoing conflict with Russia, Reuters reports.

The decision is currently being discussed by the military and government before potentially being sent to parliament. Zelensky emphasized the need for strong justifications for the mobilization, considering factors such as people, fairness, defense capability, and finances.

While Ukraine’s troop numbers are undisclosed, it previously claimed around 1 million people under arms. Russia, on the other hand, announced plans to increase its military to 1.5 million service members.
