McDonald’s Aims to Open Nearly 9,000 Restaurants

McDonald’s has announced plans to open over 8,800 locations and add 100 million members to its loyalty program by 2027 as part of its long-term plans to grow sales globally, CNBC reports.

The company intends to grow net new restaurant numbers by 4% in 2024 and 4-5% annually after that, with a goal of reaching 50,000 locations globally by 2027. The fast-food giant currently had 41,198 restaurants worldwide as of Sept. 30.

The company also aims to have 250 million active loyalty program members by 2027. McDonald’s is leaning into its loyalty program amid concerns about a “cookieless future” and plans to rely on its own data collected through its mobile app.
