Iran Calls for Muslim Countries to Sanction Israel

Iran is urging members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to impose an oil embargo and other sanctions on Israel, Al Jazeera reports.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian made these calls during an emergency OIC meeting in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was discussed.

He specifically called for a complete embargo on Israel by Islamic countries, including oil sanctions, and the expulsion of Israeli ambassadors if diplomatic relations exist.

Furthermore, Amirabdollahian advocated for the establishment of a team of Islamic lawyers to document potential war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza.
