The Netherlands and Denmark to Send F-16 Fighter Jets to Ukraine

The Netherlands and Denmark have announced plans to provide F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, Reuters reports.

The joint statement was made during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to both countries.

Denmark will deliver a total of 19 jets, with the first six expected to be sent to Ukraine around New Year.

The Netherlands has 42 warplanes available, but has not yet decided how many to send.

Both countries have been involved in training Ukrainian pilots to operate advanced fighter jets, in order to counter Russia’s air superiority.
