Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie, have announced their separation after 18 years of marriage, AP News reports.
Trudeau will continue to live at Rideau Cottage in Ottawa together with the couple’s three children.
Sophie Trudeau will maintain a separate residence in Ottawa and spend time at the official residence when Trudeau is traveling.
Trudeau’s parents, Pierre and Margaret Trudeau, also separated while Pierre was prime minister in the 1970s.
