Authors Sue OpenAI’s ChatGPT for Copyright Infringement

Two authors have filed a lawsuit against OpenAI for allegedly using their copyrighted books to train ChatGPT without their consent, CNBC reports.

The authors, Paul Tremblay and Mona Awad, claim that ChatGPT could produce “very accurate summaries” of their works.

Leading the authors to believe that their books were used during the training process, which would be a violation of copyright law.

However, proving how ChatGPT accessed the information and determining the extent of the financial damages suffered by the authors could be a challenge.
