Germany’s Finance Minister Chrisitan Linder has rejected Intel’s request for higher subsidies for its chip plant in the country, The Financial Times reports.
The chipmaker would receive €6.8bn in government support for its €17bn plant in Magdeburg in eastern Germany, but is now asking for €10bn.
Linder said “There is no more money available in the budget” and that the government is trying to consolidate the budget and not expand it.
