On Monday, the Hungarian parliament approved a bill to allow Finland to join NATO once it has been ratified by all 30 member states, reports Reuters.
The bill passed with 182 votes in favor and 6 votes against, after the Fidesz party said it would support the motion.
Now only Turkish approval remains before Finland can be accepted as a member of the military alliance.
Sweden applied at the same time as Finland, but Hungary and Turkey have held off approving Sweden’s bid.
