Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world’s largest contract chipmaker, plans to hire more than 6,000 engineers in 2023, reports Reuters.
TSMC is looking for engineers in electrical or software-related fields for all cities across Taiwan where it operates.
The announcement is somewhat unexpected, as the chip industry is currently in a global downturn.
