DoorDash Cuts 1,250 Employees

On Wednesday, delivery service DoorDash let go of 1,250 employees as part of a cost-cutting effort, due to declining growth and overhiring.

DoorDash CEO Tony Xu offered 17 weeks severance and 2023 vesting for affected employees and health care will continue through March 2023.

Termination of overseas and visa-sponsored employees will be on March 1, to give employees “as much time possible to find a new job.”

At the end of 2021, DoorDash had 8,600 corporate employees.
