At Tesla’s AI (Artificial Intelligence) Day, Tesla CEO Elon Musk presented the company’s latest work-in-progress prototype of a humanoid robot ‘Optimus’.
The prototype Optimus was wheeled on stage at the Silicon Valley event, where it waved to the audience and raised its knees.
The company then showcased a video of Optimus performing simple tasks, including watering plants, carrying boxes, and lifting metal bars.
Musk said the Tesla bot would be mass-produced and sold at a cost lower than $20,000, he estimates that the product will be available in three to five years.
The mass-produced robots will be tested by working jobs in the car factories, company engineers say.
