Swiss Tennis Legend Roger Federer Announces His Retirement

On Thursday, 20-time grand slam champion Roger Federer announced his retirement in a social media post that the Laver Cup in London will be his last as a professional player.
"The Laver Cup next week in London will be my final ATP event. I will play more tennis in the future, of course, but just not in Grand Slams or on the tour."

Since January 2020, Federer, 41, only competed in five events and had to undergo three knee surgeries, his late-career injury problems is one of the reasons for his retirement.

Federer has won 103 ATP singles titles, 28 ATP Masters titles and six ATP Finals. A record of 1251-275 (82%) singles over the course of 1,526 matches on the ATP tour.
Federer together with Rafael Nadal, 36, and later Novak Djokovic, 35, made up to form the big three, arguably the greatest era of men's tennis.
